mommy called to tell me that dr@co didn't poo since 9am. She was worried. But shortly after her call, she called again because dr@co had poo. Sigh...
Mommy also ordered to buy the Dentinox infant colic drop for dr@co (on top of the gripe water) as he was suspected to had that problem ... I got it at Guardian off the selves.
Also replenished dr@co milk powder... my big eater ...
We tried to give him 120ml milk (breast+formula) at night because he seemed to be able to take more in his last feed. But he only finished about 80ml...

Three Bottles = One Feed !?!
Without realised, today was already Sunday.
I found that following up with Dr@co's routine was really tiring. Just the feeding itself took three bottles for one feed, and the frequency was about every 2-3hours average. One for the expressed breast milk, one for formulae milk and one for plain water. Dr@co's every feed now required about 60-80ml, as mommy's milk was generally less than 70ml, so, it is necessary to supplement with some formulae.
I was not not sure if the water was necessary, but that's whey the mommy and grandma wanted, so be it ...
Today was also the last day for mommy's malay massage session ... err ... the tummy still there, but smaller.

Express - > IQ Warmer
It was the second weekend for Dr@co. No office today, but still have to wake up early for help here and there ...
Before noon, I headed to Philips with the newly bought warmer. After clarifications with the sales personnel there, I dicided to top up for the Avent IQ warmer as the express model did not serve me as the way I wanted. Hope Avent IQ does.

Name Finalized!!!
it is a usual day for daddy. 6pm, I went back home for Dr@co. We had two visitors today, Serene and Ching Xia.
Then I picked up the name report and trying to finalise the name. In fact, it was more or less chosen. I called up Dr@co's grand-daddy to seek for his opinion. The name we chosen was 轩宇 (Xuan Yu). We all agreed that it was a nice name, 叶轩宇 - Yap Xuan Yu. I like the initials specifically, when they were placed together: YXY. Seemed like this handsome boy will be sandwich by the opposite sex ... :p
Anyway, it was finalised. and here you are, Dr@co, from now on, this will be your official name.
p.s. apparently, I found out that my friend's nephew is named 宇轩 ... after all, this name is not that unique. But Dr@co is.

ONE WEEK OLD!!!
Dr@co was already one week old. Another Hurray... Having said that, we didn't really celebrate. But....
Had to tell mommy to cut down food with alcohol...
But so far, we were sooooo exhausted to take care of him. Keep wanting milk.... His frequency is as short as half hour and the longest is only short 2.5 hours...
Luckily, milk powder is readily available for Dr@co's demand. Anyway, I have checked, the milk powder is made in the Netherlands, not China, and definitely not "san lu" brand one.
Anyway, I just found a slot for this.... not sure when I will be back again to update this ...

Dr@co New "Ferarri"
We received a new gift. It is Dr@co's new "Ferarri". That pram was full of interesting features and it was definitely a good pram. The only con was that it was too heavy for mommy, and not so portable. Need quite a bit or car space. But we appreciated it.

One Week Checkup
Finally, I was back to my office. Lot of things to clear. But I only have until 2pm for that. Then, I need to be back home because Mommy and Dr@co had their one week checkup to do. One at Mt. E and another at Paragon.
Before that mommy started her first malay massage session. This is basically a 7 sessions massage. Hope could see result after that.

Moon Festival
Today was the moon festival. Since Dr@co can't eat moon cake yet, I had to get him something at this special day. I went around the Toa Payoh Central to search for an electric lantern.
Oh man, I can't believe that I can't find a single one.... luckily, I was able to get one at the neighborhood shop near our home. The lantern was the creature featured in "CJ7 (movie by Steven Chow)"...
the two grandma said this daddy was crazy. but I said it was a memorable act ...

Dr@co Chinese Name
I went to Master Lim and collected Dr@co's naming report. There were quite a number of characters for us to mix and match from to form Dr@co's name. Master Lim also inform me about Dr@co's general characteristics based on his "eight characters (八字)" which equivalent to his birth date and time. He also told me some of the things that Dr@co should avoid.

Dr@co's (Scheduled) Due Date
Today was Dr@co scheduled due date and it was his second day home. We were still stressful that he kept crying.
We called in my mother-in-law from Yong Peng to help up too. In the afternoon, she reached, and I hoped everything will be better.
now I had two grandmas to help, I went to fix my viper and did some shopping. In my shopping list, I included a tin of milk powder, just in case. When I was back home, the two doesn't seems to be able to handle Dr@co too. So, I decided to let go. Let go of what the doctor said. I brought out all the milk bottle, soother bla bla bla.... sigh....
soon after I allowed the two grandmas to handle it thier ways, Dr@co seemed to settle a bit (of course) ...

Cordblood Stored
StemCord just SMSed to inform me that Dr@co cord blood was enough for storage. It will be stored in two different bags (not the tube, hehe) at two locations.
Back to HomeSweetHome
Mommy decided to discharge from the 5* "hotel" as the bed is not exactly comfortable to sleep, and it was quite expensive ward.
We packed up eveything and settle all the bills for mommy and Dr@co. Around 11am, Dr@co aunties and grandma came to visit us at the hospital.
I headed out to pick up my ride. WHAT!! the pair of front vipers of my car were stolen!?!? make a short report to the car-park management, and what the heck, Dr@co is more important.
mommy no milk to supply ....
at night, I notice that Dr@co had the jaundice problem. We did not know what to do.... I was panic and I messaged couple of friends for help....

Dr@co One Day Old
Dr@co's First day
I wasn't around at night because no companion allowed for double room. Early in the morning, I woke up and prepared for mommy's need. Then I headed to hospital to see Dr@co and mommy.
here is the shot. He has the feature of two of us (of course!!) Big eyes belongs to momy and the big earlobe belongs to dad. the rest, mixture of both. I hope he has my brain quality...
"Mammy's brain also not bad lah ... " - Dr@co
At noon, we moved to a Delux room. Oh man, it was like a 5* hotel with a price to pay. Room number 331. Seems like Dr@co was full of "3", i.e. weighted 3.330kg, born at 2303...

The Arrival
It was a long day. Full house in the delivery suite. We were quite lucky to be slightly earlier to grab the last room available...
0000hr - we were put into Delivery Suite 9 (DS9);
0100hr - registration for admission completed. Back in DS9. Mommy was "equiped" with a monitoring system for baby's heart beat and contraction. Baby was shown VERY ACTIVE.
0145hr - mommy took a break with bread we bought from bread talk. Soon after, mommy was inserted with a pill to soften the cervix. According to our last visit, it was still rather "hard". My concern that it won't work well ...
0300hr - Ik Chian (mommy's sister) called to check if Dr@co arrived yet. Of course not, still far from that.
0541hr - Nurse gave mommy an examination, the cervis remained unchanged ... sigh ...
0805hr - breakfast time;
0900hr - Dr. Ong came to assess mommy. True enough, after 8 hours of waiting, the cervix remained unripe, at all. Dr decided to start contraction through dripping;
0910hr - Mommy was furher "equiped" with a tube for the dripping Dr ordered;
0930hr -
.... to be completed.....
1100hr - urine bag administred.

13 Days Left - Gynae Visit
We had another gynae visit. 3.1kg. Amniotic fluid had decreased slightly, but still at a safe level. So far, mommy and Dr@co were progressing well. Basically, Dr@co is at a full grown size and ready to meet us, either the coming week or next, which is the 40th week of mommy's pregnancy. The only thing we need to watch out was Dr@co's movement, which we hardly worried so far. My only concern was, with such grow rate, I was afraid that Dr@co would be too big for mommy's size ...
Dr@co continued to be active, sometime too active. The movement could be quite reckless sometime ...
We continued to clean some of the Dr@co's belongings, and I have finally set up the cot. Personally, I find it ugly ... you will see...

16 Days Left - More Movements
in the morning, mommy felt some interesting movement by Dr@co for the first time. It was like some bubbles (not the usual one) running under the belly... mommy ask if Dr@co was hiccuping or burping...
Mommy took a half-day leave for rest. but when rested, Dr@co was moving. the movement was like getting more and more...
I was rather concerned that Dr@co would come earlier...

17 Days Left - Possible Wedding Event
My younger brother informed me that he might need to do his wedding within 100 days from today, because his girlfriend's grandmom just passed away.
If it is materialized, Dr@co may be able to attend the wedding.
Other than that, it was announced that Anwar won in the by-eleection, and he was one step closer to Malaysian PM's office..

2.9kg's tiny body was pressing mommy bottom half body, but so far progressing well. Doc had issued an admission letter to us signified that the baby was ready, and we should be ready for Dr@co arrival too. Doc indicated that 80% of baby arrived earlier....
Today, I shoted the ultrasound scan with my camcorder. When back home, just realised that I did not know how to convert the footage into the form that is at least viewable on my computer....

36th Week - Table Tennis Live - 26 Days Left
It was an important day for Singaporean, as the Women Table Tennis Team fought China's Team for the Gold Metal. As most others, we watched the whole match. Personally, I felt that the Singapore team didn't perform well and the Gold Metal went to China ... Anyway, Singapore team walked away with their very first Olympic Metal in 48 years ... Good for the players that team were awarded SGD750,000 for the silver plate ...
On the other hand, the man single badminton also fought in the final alongside with the table tennis game. It was China vs. Malaysia, our home country. Well, not surprisingly, China got that too. Well, so, Malaysia also got the Silver, just not sure how much the player would be awarded.
During the match, I think mommy was too excited ... she had a nosebleed. It only lasted for a while, and it stops soon after.
At night, Dr@co did his usual exercise in mommy before mommy gets to sleep. I made mommy a small glass of milk to drink ... thereafter, Dr@co kind of calm down. I think Dr@co is a big eater, just like daddy.

Constance looked well. She shared with me some of her latest experience of her delivery. Good to learn more now.

32 Days Left - Gynae Visit
2.5kg now. Head continued down towards mommy's pelvis with his back facing us. Good boy.
Other than the regular checkup, today, we (more like mommy) had a VERY IMPORTANT lesson on breast feeding from Dr. Ong. I think a single word from Doc worth a million arguments between the couple ... sigh...
Anyway, just wished to share this with all mommy-to-be, including Dr@co's mommy. There are 5 Obstacles for Success Breast Feeding:
1. DESIRABILITY
Dr. Ong can't emphasize enough that, other than mother herself, no others can help. The mother's will and desirability is the utmost important factor that leads to the success of a breast feeding.
"If got, got lor!" kind of attitude is NOT enough. Most mothers fail for sure when they have this attitude.
One should know that most of the breast feeding were difficult at start, especially the first few days following birth. However, difficult to start doesn't equate to cannot start. In fact, "I don't have milk" is no more than an excuse for their lack of desirability.
Mothers must have STRONG desirability and will to keep it up ... then mother has passed the first and most important hurdle.
2. SUPPLY = DEMAND
At birth, mommy supplies only colostrum, which comes only little amount, often a spoonful. But colostrum is far more richer in nutrients and anti-bodies than others food sources, which are essential for baby. The small quantity is generally enough for the first few days of baby.
At this stage, however, most mothers fear that their baby doesn't have enough. With fear, they generally can't help but to supplement baby with formula milk to make it "enough". That's where the breast feeding fails, i.e. baby stops suckle and wanting their food supply from the easier way - milk bottle.
When baby stops demanding from mother, mother's body signals to stop supply, which puts breast feeding to an end.
So, instead of fearing, why not determine if baby had enough? But how much is enough? Well, can't monitor the amount through input? Try output. From the output, we should be able to determine if our baby had enough for the day.
The next limb of this obstacle is STRICTLY NO BOTTLES. For what ever reasons, no bottle feeding (whether expressed or formula milk) AT ALL in the first stage of your breast feeding. Bottle feeding would affect the baby, rather than the mother. At start, when baby finds it (a lot) easier to gain milk from bottle, the baby would refuse to suckle. There will be no win case for mother's breast over bottle, even the lowest quality and lousiest design bottle ...
But it you must, spoon feed the baby instead, rather than bottle feeding. It is possible and workable.
3. TECHNIQUES - Positioning and Latching
During the stays in hospital, try to gain as much guidance as possible from the experts. There are TONS of helps when the mother is still in the hospital. At home, the mother is on their own. The confinement lady would generally not help you in breast feeding. In fact, some may even hinder progress, as they may be the "If got, got lor" attitude.
Dr. Ong also advised, if possible, staying few more days in the hospital for that reasons, instead of rushing home. Mothers often give up on breast feeding due to their ignorance.
4. COMMUNICATION
Mother MUST communicate to express her need. Nobody would know or oblige to know your need, if it isn't spelled out ...
If the monther has any specific preferrences on anything and everything, please make it clear to the nurses, in hospital. Keeping it with yourself does not good to everyone, including the mother and the baby.
It must also be cleared that some requests are not a standard practice as different mother may have different needs. When not sure, JUST ASK!!!
In the hospital, why hesitate to ask when you have already pay for the services?
That goes back to the spoon feeding mentioned above. Mother MUST inform the nurses to do that when it is so needed. It is not a standard practice to spoon feed the baby. In fact, it is easier for the nurses to feed baby with bottle.
5. Engorgement
It can be painful, yes. But mother is SOOOO close to the success. It will be a real pain if give up now. There are lots of ways to deal with engorgement. JUST ASK!!!
There are more on practicals, of course. But what good would the practicals be, if the mother can't even started? It is up to the mother.
From ME: Daddy can only be the finger pointing to the designation, not the designation. Mother has to get there herself.
A note to all daddy-to-be, don't bother to "educate" her about breast feeding when she is not ready to listen. Let the expert to do the job, a lot easier. But knowing that yourself is equally important. Your support is essential. JUST BE THERE FOR HER!!

35th Week - Takashimaya Baby Fair - 33 Days Left
We went to Taka for the Baby Fair. We spent almost 4 hours there, lots of things to see, and buy. We also pick up quite a few things for Dr@co. The main items we got was the Avent sterilizer which come with a free thermo bag and three milk bottles. We thought it was a good deal... We wanted also to get the mattress for Dr@co's cot, but the size we were looking was not available there...
Then, mommy wants to go IKEA to find the mattress, so, we drove all the way to the Tampines's IKEA, but we had no luck as the smallest size mattress is slightly bigger...

Singapore 43th National Day - 34 Days Left
Today was Singapore National Day. Daddy had a BBQ at East Coast with colleagues, but Mommy couldn't go because she didn't sleep well, the night before.
We went to area G where our pit was supposed to be located, and we started searching for be before we unloaded everything. Our "pit" number is BYOP10. But we couldn't find it... Then I asked around, there was one nice guy showed me where was the pit...
When I saw the "pit", I was shocked, wordless... it was only a square piece of concrete on the grass floor.... what X#%^#^!&*... apparently, BYPO suppose to mean for "Bring Your Own (f**king) Pit". I think somebody in the relevant administration team should be fired, as it shown that they do not welcome non-local to BBQ in Singapore... that one reason that I always against using acronym...
Luckily, one of our colleague booked another real "pit" at east coast too... she was kind enough to let us used that before they come. Phew, so we found that pit, a much better one, and we carried on our BBQ.
Despite that silly acronym, we had a great day there. I brought back the food for Mommy too.

Beijing 2008 - 35 Days Left
Today was a day of 8s. 08-08-08 was the date and today was also a big day for Beijing, for Chinese. Olympic 2008 was held in Beijing. One World One Dream was the theme.
Right after work, we packed back our dinner from Gaylang, and we quickly rush back home for the Olympic 2008 opening. It started on 8pm live on Channel 5. The opening lasted for almost 4 hours. It was fantastic... at least I like it. Full of Chinese culture.
During the live broadcast, Dr@co was naughty. He stretched all the way that made mommy very unconfortable. I guess he was excited as well. Well, he will probably get another one on Olympic closing, which will be 16 days later.

36 Days Left - Your Baby Can Read!
Uncle Tay lent me a set of 5 VCDs "Your Baby Can Read!". I was supposed to rip copies for Tay as backup. He couldn't do it due to the copyright protection feature provided ...
Foremost, who in the world now would still bother about CD!? We are in the High Definition Blueray age already, though I was still working towards that. Well, I did my part to safe the world by ripping 5 plastics disc into one (DVD)... I of course kept a copy for myself too, in case Tay had problem with all his... :p

34th Week - Mission Accomplished - 40D Left
"The Eagle Project One" was continued and had finished the last piece today. All paints was used up. Okay, it wasn't very nicely done, but I think I had to put an end to it. Had to find a good time to assemble it because mommy "pantang" on doing anything to the bad.... I will post a picture when I assembled it.
As usual, Dr@co had a busy day tickling mommy. I think he was growing big already.

41D Left
"Project Eagle One" was revived after a long pause. it only left with two side panels, but that was also the hardest part. It need a lots of yellow pain to completely cover the whole area....... Had done one side for each panel, but I think I am just going to use blue for easy sake. Hope I could at least complete it ...
Draco was moving actively, as usual. I was trying to capture the moment again. I noticed some red blood vein like thingy on the lower part of mommy's tummy ... I think that will eventually be stretch mark it mommy didn't take care of it ... the thing is that she could not see it at it was blocked by Dr@co. Mommy quickly put applied some anti-stretch mark cream on that area... Mommy gave up a lot for Dr@co.
In the evening, three of us watched "The Hulk" at home. To mommy, it has a little horror element in it, because of the creature. I hope Dr@co would be braver than that.

In the afternoon, I met up with StemCord sales girl to sign up for the cord blood storing. The process was fast as documents are properly signed. I left with a cord blood collection kit.

33rd Week - 46D left
2.2kg and head down. That were what we were told by our gynae today. So far, Dr@co and mommy had done well, and we continued counting down for the arrival of Dr@co.
While I was happied to know that Dr@co and mommy were in good shape, it was painful when daddy had to start clearing up daddy's pet fish. For all the ideas I had, I just simply don't know where should I ...
Mommy had a training in the office. So, she has to went back to office in the afternoon. But daddy had whole day for himself... after sending mommy back to off, I travelled to JB for Dr@co new baby cot. Will post the picture, when I assembled it.

The Last Day of My Arowana
Today was the last day of my arowana. It was infected badly by fungus and most likely the sudden changed of water conditions caused the death. When it died, the eyes was covered by foggy fungus, and tiny blood vein were shown all around the body ...
I confirm its death through touching it after seeing no movement at all at the gill cover in few hours. That was probably the first time I actually touch it ...
It was with us since 2002 when it was only 1.5 inches long. It was 1.5 feet when it died ...

One Month CelebrationS - 55D Left
We had a busy day today.
I attended baby avatar's first month celebration, at Jason's place. It was a sweet cozy and well renovated place. Teng Yee (Baby Avatar's mom) looked good and recovered well. Shortly after I arrived, I saw Teng Yee was cleaning Baby Avatar backside ... When they did that, Baby Avatar farted and followed by a wet poo ... Oh that's the big one ...
Keng Lian's family arrived shortly after. XinKye had grown big already ... Keng Lian and Yoke Lan shared with us thier patental experience. It was really helpful listening to them. I withnessed a live demostration of XinKye toilet training with only one handdy plastic container ...
Mommy too went for her colleague's new born son's first month celebration.

Baby Einstein
Just heard from a colleague about this product by Disney. She claimed that it is now a MUST HAVE for most young parents in Malaysia. Well, I was kiasu enough to check out what it was. Initially, it looked good to me ...
Apparently, there are some controversy over the effect that claimed by Disney. One of the articles by NewScientist.com claimed that these educational DVDs may "slow infant leaning"!?!?! Complaints was lodged against Disney and now Disney does not market it as an educational materials.
But well, my research did not end here. I found something else - sign language. Seems to be a better option for early childhood education. Here is some free resources for sign language. Will revisit these material when I have time...

31st Week: First Visit to Tebrau City, JB
We brought Draco to JB again. This time, we visited Tebrau City. That was also our first time to Tebrau City.
We bought quite a bit of things, mostly for Draco. The pricing for most of the goods there was not that cheap over the pricing in Singapore. We only had little advantage over the currency, other than that, doing the shopping in Singapore may make more sense. In fact, Avent product are far more expensive in Malaysia ...

It was another visit to Dr. Ong. Mommy gained 2kgs in 2 weeks!?!?! Its a bit too much .... gut to cut down her diet liao. Today, Draco was head up. But Dr. Ong said nothing to worry about as long as he will head down after 36 weeks. Phew.... Other than that, everything went alright.
Today was also our last antenatal class. The last class was about care of a new born ... very interesting ... just not sure if I will be able to do that when time comes ...

First Movie
I decided to bring Draco for his first movie experience. 5pm, I skyped mommy. Mommy said wanna watch KungFu Panda (but daddy want Hell Boy II). Then I googled EngWah Cinema for the availability and time .... after a quick search, NONE! Actually, none on the evening. Then I googled GV, also only scheduled on day time, not evening ...
Finally, I tried Cathay, thank god they have an 8pm show ... but at AMK hub. I don't really like the place, long parking and ticketing queue ... But no choice.

29th Week - 5th Antenatal Class
Some visitors from JB. The incredible high pitch young cousin of Draco, ZhiRuo came to visit us again. Day before, we planned a few places for them, but because of the rain, we went no where.
4PM, second last antenatal class. Today's class was exclusively about breast-feeding. We gained lots from the class. The speaker is skillful, but the speech was machine gun fast ... phew...
It was interesting when we saw the video about how a new born baby would search for mommy's milk with his instinct when he was left alone without help ... amazing. I still strongly believed that there was no such thing as no milk from mommy. Its all depend on the mommy's desire to give ... Hope Draco's mommy could understand that.

was looking at the options for storing cord blood, or stem cell to be more precise ... there are two companies i had in mind. StemCord and CellSafe. One in Singapore, the other is mainly in KL. Both offering good packages... of course, the one from Malaysia is cheaper overall.
Other than the charges, the main difference is StemCord uses cryovial to contain the stem cell where CellSafe uses cryobag. So far, can't be certain that one is better than the other, but it would seem like trend is in favor of the cryobag. Heard that StemCord is also looking into this option too.
Well, another concern is it has to be stored in Malaysia, rather than here in Singapore....

another half way through the week already ..... the time that we are supposed to meet Draco is getting nearer.
Daddy brought the newly bought camcorder and the bulky camera for servicing to make sure that they are working when Draco is out.
Nothing alse happened, except that Draco was getting more and more active and responsive .... today, daddy learned how to complete the Rubik cube. I think Draco like it too. He keep kicking it through mommy tummy when I placed it on top ... Okay, okay, daddy will teach you....

This is another Dr. Ong visit again.... felt like a long while since we visited the last time. We went to the clinic early in the morning. It was earlier than my usual working hour.... Mommy had to do a blood test for sugar level. Oh yeah, she had to fast for at least 8 hours since yesterday night.
Then, we saw Dr. Ong, and our little one again. We was sleeping, when we saw him, and he yawned with his tongue stick out a little..... kind of sweet. It was another usual check up and everything were alright. This time onward, we have to do our checkup once every fortnight. Oh, it is almost 30 weeks already, we only have another 10 to go.
After that, I met Master Lim, our FengShui Master, to let them know our intention to have him to name our baby. Then, we cam back home for a rest, our forth antenatal class was at 4pm.
The class was not as excited as I tot..... most of it was a repetition of the 3rd class, about labouring. Then we had hospital tour. We visited one of the family room and the delivery suite. So we roughly know what to expect. Oh yeah, we also walked away with a small Avent gift pack which include a small milk storage bottle.
After that, mommy wanted to do some shopping at CenterPoint. 6th floor of CenterPoint is Robison's baby and kid department. Some sales going on there, but Avent products does not entitle to any discount. We did not get anything there. Then, we headed to John Little for our second round. I was not sure what would "Singapore Great Sale" mean. Ultimately, I felt that it was simply a gimmick to get everybody out for shopping without actual "sales"...... We still came out with three bags nevertheless .....
oh.. it was a tiring day today....

We visited my boy's potential nanny's place (finally) at Kim Keat Link that was just along out way from home to baby's office. Very convenient.
The nanny, Karen, is a kind and soft spoken lady. She is a mother of a young school boy and she is currently taking care of an 18 months old girl for a Malaysian couple.
We are quite comfortable with her, and I think we will be engaging the nanny when the mommy starts to work.

Employee of the Year
Saw Constance (my colleague) today. Nothing surprise me until I overheard that she was supposed to induce today. She was not supposed to be in the office today, but she did. Well she looked very rush today, and I guessed she was trying to clear up her works before going for her long maternity leave ... What a good employee ...
Anyway, I sent her a message at late evening to wish her the best. She reverted telling me that her gynae wanted her to induce tomorrow morning ...

28th Week
Baby suggested to watch movie at Ang Mo Kio hub. Seems to have some discount on tickets for UOB credit card payment. Well, that would be my boy's first movie experience. We were discussing whether to watch KingFu Panda or the Incredible Hulk ...
We finally reached there. Oh my, the queue was long ... seems like everyone was catching movie on weekday for the cheaper ticket rate ...
We queued for while only, and we gave up (sorry baby) ... didn't think it worth the effort to waited for so long just for the little discount. We agreed that we should watch it at Toa Payoh instead, no queue, generaly. We headed for our dinner there and have a shopping thereafter.
You may guess, shop for baby stuff again ... We visited few stores there and we eventually come out with an infant wrap from SwaddleMe.
Kind of looks comfortable to the baby when it is wraped ... just not sure if the baby will think the same ...

3rd Antenatal Class
I continued my project Eagle One. The paint ran out pretty fast, one follow another ....
I was wandering, does it make any sense to that?? Shall I just get a new cot for my baby......
We attended our third antenatal class. The 3rd class was about labouring and breathing techniques. We was taught about the labouring stages ...
Before the class ended, there was about 5 minutes practice on how to relax. Mommy lay on me (very tiring for me) and followed the instructions. She supposed to totally relax herself ... but I noted Dr@co was rather active ...
I visited Jason and Ting Yee, and of course the baby avatar, at NUH. Congratulations!

Project Eagle One - Old Cot, New Look
It was a sunny morning. Baby received an SMS from Shirley, Dr. Ong's nurse. OH NO!! We forgot that we were supposed to have our routine checkup today... Doh!
After we had our breakfast, I drooped by the hardware shop at our neighbourhood and bought three cans of acrylic epoxy spray paint, one red, one blue and one yellow to kick start my baby cot reconditioning project ....
I dismantled the baby cot and brought them all to the top deck of a nearby multi-story car park. The sun was just right above my head, and I started my project with the blue color for the side two panels. It was quite windy. It helps to cool me down a little, but on the other hand, it blew away the paint..... Doh!
It only lasted for about an hour. I finished all three cans of paint. So I called it a day for my project.
We had our second antenatal class.

First Antenatal Class
We had our first antenatal class at Mt. Alnernia. The class was about nutritions for pragnency. It was much easier gaining such information by simply listened to the experts than reading it myself ...
So, is was quite true that Folic Acid is not only good for the 1st trimester (and before pragnency) as said in most books, but through out the pragnency. Lucky that we follow our gynae's instructions.

16th Week - KL Dinner Anniversary
Today was our anniversary for our KL wedding dinner and also another gynae checkup again.
We went to the clinic early in the morning. Dr. Ong asked if we want to know the gender of our little one. OF COURSE, that what I have been waiting for. I am very typical, I like to have a baby boy and mommy would opt for a baby girl. So, B or G?
After a short while, Dr reveal the result: Daddy wins!!!
Sorry, can't post the scan here as I have to respect my little one's privacy... hehe..... anyway here is another Ultraman shoot:

Another gynea visit….. I lost count already…..
This is meant for an NT scan for Down Syndrome. My litle one has been identified in the low risk group … HURRAY!! Although the accuracy is only up to 70%, but we decided not to do any further test anymore. We leave it to the god.
Besides that, it gave us another chance to see our baby. He is now 6.51cm and 60g with heart beat of 134/minute. Hehe…. This time, not only he kicked, he yawned this time.
Then, mommy shopped for new clothing again.....

We went VIVO City to shop for mommy's clothing. Bought a belly butter (anti-stretch mark massage creme) at EGG.
The little one's Grandma called to tell us that baby should not eat any durian for some reason… baby didn’t seem to buy that idea…. Sigh.
Ching Xia came to our place to explain about the package ….

We bought a lots of books from Popular Bookshop. All for the little one, which include few story books for Baby to read (to the little one) and others are for me to digest and prepare for the little one ...
Two big things happened that concerned the peoples in Singapore. First, Singapore successfully bid to hold the 1st youth Olympic in 2010. Congratulation.
Second, the 10Mil TOTO jackpot were shared by 10 winners, I was not one of them…. DOH!!

We visited Dr. Ong again. This time, the transducer was running on Baby tummy. We once again saw our little one. The little one had grown since the last time we saw him (of course). Now 4 point something cm liao….. he is moving (of course, again) and kicking his leg….. Dr. Ong managed to capture a scan with the little one’s leg stretched….. he really knew how to pose.
Before we left, Dr. Ong explain to us for things that we should be expecting next: a scan and test for Down Syndrome……
Sent Baby back home and I went back to work. The little one was swimming on my head….
Shared what the doctor had said to us with Constance, she gave valuable advise to me.

9th Week - Second Impact
We thought Baby was okay and we decided to head back to Singapore. Ching Xia traveled with us, and we asked quite a bit of questions.
One thing disappointing was that the Dr. Ong do not keep the soft copy of all the scanned picture….. so, I can’t have them liao. We will only be providing a CD of the scan if we are going for the 3D/4D scan that is going to cost us.
When we were back home, another STORM!! Baby BLEED again …… This time, we called Dr. Ong and we were directed to emit to Mt. Alvinia Hospital.
It took a while before we saw Dr. Ong (time goes too slow). The nurse was trolling a small wheeled device into the room. The device looked aged. But when the doctor flipped the side panel down, it showed a monitor screen and a control panel on the flipped down side panel: it is a portable (or at least a smaller version) of the ultrasound scanner. Dr. Ong said, "this machine need servicing ?!?!?!"
"Are you kidding me? Tell me the machine is working!" But it turned out that Baby and the little one were okay.... but need more rest.....
Baby admitted to hospital again. She had to stay there for three days. But this time, we felt better as we were back in Singapore.
I went back home for sleep that night. I believed that Baby should have a good sleep without my snore.

8th - First Impact
It was supposedly a short journey from Yong Peng to Batu Pahat, but it was a long journey for me. Finally, we were right in front of the clinic. Here was another storm, when the nurse at Dr. God Clinic found out that we were not their on-going patient, so, they coundn’t take us!?!?!! What the Holly Mother F**K*&^*##&%$#!##xx!x^%$x#&x#
What kind of clinic was that?!?!?!?! so irresponsible !!! Wasn't it that they must treat all patient when it came to them?!?! what kind of doctor they are? I really couldn't believe that actually happened to me. What can I said…. I can only leave him to the God ….
We had no choice but to send Baby to Pantai Hospital, which was a short distance away. It was only a one year old hospital where we do not know whether they have any such specialist for Baby. But we had to try. I sent Baby to the ICU, and they took her in to examine her conditions.
The malay doctor on duty looked young. He examined Baby and had contacted a gynae to attent to Baby. He said that the gynae stayed nearby to the hospital and should be there shortly.
We were nervous, and the time past very slowly. It was around 1:30am. The nurse finally came and brought Baby to the gynae’s room. The gynea, Dr. Leow, was already there. He did an untrasound scan for Baby to first see if the little one was alright.
The image appeared. We saw the little one. But we were not sure how was the little one’s condition. Dr pressed some buttons, and a familiar sound came into my ear --- my little one’s heart beat.
Time seems to stop. I am not sure if I hear it correctly, and I couldn’t really figure out what exactly it was, I just felt it was familiar.
Dr. finally said: “baby 还有心跳,没有事”. It was like we back to the earth from Mars, i.e. we could breath normal again….. I looked at Baby for a while, I think she had the same feeling as I had. Her eyes were pined on the screen in front of her. I then looked at the screen too.
Dr. pointed at the image and said “that is the little one”. We looked at the same spot. Dr. measured the length, about 2 something cm. I am not sure about Baby, I could clearly see the little one’s features. The little one had a small little tail curling up, a round stomach like me, and a solid head which contain a clever brain as me… hehe…. It is my little one, our little one …
I was so thankful that the Dr. came. Without him, we can’t get through this.
Dr. said that the pregnancy is unstable. He gave her a hormone injection to stabilise the pregnancy. Thank God, I think Baby and the little one are alright now. Dr. let Baby to stay for one night (that night) for observation. So, Baby admitted to the hospital. She stayed in a one bedded room. I need to be there with her. I called Boon, and soon enough, Boon arrived with our luggage. We gave Baby a change for comfortable wear. I accompanied Baby for the night.
I was extremely tired. I had to sleep. But my snore always woke up Baby. I couldn't sleep well, so did Baby. The night was long, we were woke up by daddy and mom early arrival.
Daddy and mom didn't stay for long. I told them that Baby should be able to discharge today after the Dr. visit. Daddy and mom went to the "观音庙" to pray pray.

8th Week - Chinese New Year
GONG XI FA CHAI!!!!
This is the first time I gave ang paos, which everyone had been long waited for.
I called Baby early in the morning to say happy CNY to baby and the little one. Baby told me that there was quite a bit of brownie discharge on that morning. I told her it shouldn't be a problem, and ask her to rest more, and I think she did.
I went back to Yong Peng with daddy and mom, and Cheong and his big group of friends were having CNY party. I went to pick up Baby at her mom's place. By the time we were home, it was almost mid night.
It was the scariest moment I ever had in my life. Baby told me that she bleed. Fresh blood bleeding!!!
What am I suppose to do??!?!?!! I called Ching Xia for some advise. She said must sent her for treatment immediately. There was a Dr. Goh Clinic in Batu Pahat.

Me, daddy and mom went back to KL for re-union dinner. Baby didn’t go back as I wanted her to have a good rest at her mom's place.
Of course, everyone in Yap’s family knew about the little one on that night, and I had blessing from all of them......
I had a mamak drink with Kiat Siong. I shared with him about the little one’s news also.

7th Week
I fetched Baby to work this morning and used up the last off-peak-car license we had. The timing was good, by the time I sent Baby to work, and I parked my car back at Toa Payoh, it was about 8:30am, which was about the time I usually go to work.
In the afternoon, Baby called and told me that the cleaning lady reached Chun Fei’s home very early, which meant that she completed our house cleaning far less than 4 hours…. She called the lady and was not happy that the lady gave unacceptable excuse….. we may not want to use her anymore…..
Before I left office, Constant was very nice to lend me a couple of books regarding breast feeding. Got more things to read.
Not long before the end of day work, my car sales girl asked me if I had time to go over there….. BTW, as I posted before, I had decided to change my Lancer to Honda Stream. The sales girl told me that MY NEW CAR IS READY to be delivered!!! HURRAY!!!
I quickly rushed back home and picked up Baby. Soon after, we arrived at our car agent office to pick up my new ride.

We had our 3rd visit at Mt. E. and for the very first time we heard our little one’s response – 160 beats/min heart beat. Oh yes, our little one is healthy. We can also see our little one, finally. Its about 1cm big for 7 weeks old. That’s real big comparing with what our little one was when the little one was a warrior…… ha ha, little one, say HELLO!!!
According to Wiki, by little one should look something like this:

Anyway, the printed and then scanned image I attached here wasn't very clear to see. But I swore that I could see the little one’s head, body, and yes his tail...... Hehe, my baby is normal so far, PHEW!!!
I would be asking Dr. Ong for a soft copy of that image and heart beat audio, if possible.

No special update about Baby and the little one. I wandered when could I start hearing the little one. Where should I get a stethoscope? Other than that, it was a normal day.

Housework is something that I couldn't handle myself. We arranged a part-time cleaner to help cleaning up our place on weekly basis. Baby got the lobang from Caroline. That was a first trial.
The cleaner lady was talkative, I do mean non-stop one if she wanted to. She was suppose to clean for 4 hours for S$10/hour. We are okay with her and we decided to let her cleaning our place every Friday. We handed our key to her.
In the afternoon, baby continued resting at home. I took a break and checkout those new cars at Ubi area.....

Transport Arrangement
The forwarder drove a van. The journey was short but baby had problem climbing the van. We decided not to take that van anymore.
Monday, January 14, 2008
Baby continued resting at home. Doing nothing but felt extremely boring at home....
Baby decided to tell her colleague, Chun Fei. The good news was soon spreaded within her company….. the bright side of announcing it: the useful information started to fload into our mind…..
One good suggestion was about baby's daily travel to work. Baby contacted her company’s forwarder, who can ride baby to work. They arranged a trial ride to work on Wednesady.

5th Week
There were lots to think about Baby’s pregnancy…… The first thing I had to consider was her transport to work.
The straight forward answer is to drive baby to work. But mine is an off-peak car..... so need to change it to normal car if I want to drive baby to work....... another option was to change to a new car.

We headed to Mt. E. for a second visit. Baby had a second scan. The water bag is growing bigger, which was good. Still can’t see the little one......
A blood clot of a bigger size than the water bag was discovered. According to Dr. Ong, it was probably the cause of the brownie discharge. Dr advised that if could be serious if not being treated properly.
The good thing was those discharge was only brown in color. It was considered okay, but baby need lots of rest. To stabalise the pragnency, the doctor gave baby a hormone injection and some pills to take....
The injection was done by Ching Xia and it was painful. Pitty Baby, sayang….. at that moment, I felt weird that a good friend of ours was doing the injection for my baby…..
Dr. Ong gave Baby a three days MC and advised baby to have bed-rest as much as possible.

It was a fine day after confirming that our little one is on the way. I just can’t wait to tell everyone that I am going to be a father, but some say it is better not to announce yet at the first trimester.
Everything went smooth on my side until I got back home. Baby was crying because she had some brownie discharge. She was so afraid that something happen to the little one. We had been worried. But Ching Xia told us that it is common. As long as there was no reddish discharge, it shouldn't be a problem. But we was wandering.... Not that we don't trust Ching Xia, but we were just worried.

4th Week: The Confirmation
We woke up early, and we took MRT to Mt. E. for our first visit. Finally, we met our gynae, Dr. Douglas Ong. Will post his picture when I got it.
Baby was lying down beside a Ultrasound scanner behind a curtain, so I can’t see her. Dr. Ong scanned her body and confirm the existance of our little one.
We can see that the “water bag” is formed in baby’s body, but we can’t see the baby as yet because it is still too small. Probably one of the dot among those noise in the picture.
Anyway, we agreed that we should let our family knows about it. I will form mine and she will inform hers.
My mom was the first, besides doctor and ourselves, to get this news. I finally got her a “Chu Bi Sun” (cute grandson in HockKian)....

The Discovery
Baby mensus hadn’t came yet. Our feeling told us that baby have to do a check up at the clinic. We went to a neighbourhood clinic to do the check up.
I was waited outside the doc’s room with my PSP accompanied. Quite nervous, but the game did a good job to ease me. Just a shortwhile, baby came out from the doc’s room, but walking towards the wash room with a small container. Baby came back to me and waited for the doc’s next call for the test result.
The nurse called. Baby noted the nurse giggle…. Hehe, I was just concentrated with my PSP… Finally, baby came out again. She looked very calm and she just sitted beside me. I turned to her (with my game paused), she knocked her head. I think I felt a little exciting, but only lasted for a while only......
To be doubly confirm, we decided to visit a gynae. To me, the ideal one would be Ching Xia’s clinic, and Mt. E. is really convenient for me, i.e. just across the road from my office. But baby felt that it is weird to have close friend nursing her. I would agree with her and to avoid arguments, I leave it to her ….. :P
Finally, she decided to SMS Ching Xia to slot us in for a morning visit. Ching Xia arranged a 9am appointment for us.
